The streams were
relentless. They poured over, driving me to the brink of dispair.
Eddies of leaves turned and twisted, tormented by the same wind that stole my tears from
my already drenched face. The minute droplets fell from the
overcast sky. My body shook
with constant, silent sobs.
I saw only his back,
for he didn't turn around to face me. He had his fists clenched
and walked slowly and painfully away from me, the knife still engulfed by my bleeding flesh.
My blood surrounded me and seeped into the brittle grass. The
strength was sapped from my body,
and I could barely move. My sight was becoming blurry, but I no
longer cared.
I wanted him to turn
around and save me, steel me away from death
once again. I felt an ounce of hope as he turned around, but it
was soon demolished.
The blood hungry eyes he looked at me with were no longer his.
They belonged to the beast
inside of him now. My blood was splattered on him like paint,
only more nauseating.
Before
I knew it, I found myself fearing the demon wearing his skin. I tried to
call out to him,
attempting to liberate him from the hold of the monster inside of
him, but I didn't even
have enough strength to do that. He turned away, and I could feel
my life ebbing away
into the grass on which I lay.
I saw him lift his
hands hastily to his face and grab his
hair, trying to pull away from the thing inside of him. I was
losing my senses, and couldn't
really feel anymore.
"Get the fuck out of me!" his voice screamed. He forced himself to look back at me, one of his eyes
its original purple color. The other was as red as the streaks
the setting sun
left in the air. "Jinx! What the fuck did you do to him, you
bastard?!" He tried to run towards me,
but the other being inside stopped him. I could no longer smell
my blood in the air
or taste it in my mouth.
He had broken free of
the hold placed on him and had now sat in the grass beside me, my blood deluging
him with its metallic scent. I think he picked up my head, but I
couldn't tell. I could vaguely feel him
as he kissed me, his tongue pushing its way through my half
parted lips.
"Jinx, please don't die!
Just hold on, okay?! I'll bring you to the hospital, they'll be able to save
you, they have to! Just hold on, alright?!" I could no longer see
you, but I used to very
small amount of strength I did have left to smile at you. "Are
you alright?! You smiled, so
you have to be fine, right?! Don't die on me now, Jinx!"
'I'm sorry, Jace.' I
thought, fresh
tears falling down my face. 'But I'm not sure if I have enough
strength to survive.' My breathing
was slowing now, and I couldn't really hear much anymore. I gave
into the agonizing darkness,
my
life fading from the world.
